Whether it is an apartment, studio, a loft, or a small apartment, there are always alternatives to achieve the feeling of having more meters than we actually have, just a little creativity and recursion to suit the site without losing the style we want to give and most importantly, comfort. When talking about home trends, it is always assumed that the bigger, the better, when in fact, the most relevant thing is the essence that each place reaches in relation to the materials, finishes and looks that are imposed at the time. So, if you live in a small space, this article will help you to know those infallible tricks when you want to give that feeling of spaciousness.

Tricks to enlarge spaces

Open furniture

The furniture in a small space must be functional, if they do not meet this feature are just taking up space. Use furniture that has storage space, preferably in the form of shelves and glass doors. You can also paint the furniture the color of your walls to make it disappear into the decor.

Light colors

Lighter colors reflect more light, and darker colors absorb it. That is why effectively using light tones helps a space to be perceived as more spacious, since we can see more. This does not mean that everything must be white, in the category of light colors there is a wide spectrum of possibilities. For example, beige gives a touch of elegance to the space. You can create a comfortable environment, with soft shades of it. This color belongs to the range of warm colors and looks great in spaces such as bedrooms or living rooms. If you can change the floor, do not hesitate to use a light color, specifically the same color as the walls, or similar. If this is not an option, then use light colored carpets and preferably without so many lines or shapes, as they attract the eye to the floor and make the space look smaller.

Minimalism

Many times society gets carried away by consumerism and acquires everything that is available in terms of decoration. The key to a pleasant and functional space is to place the necessary and indispensable elements without going overboard in order not to invade the space. The accumulation of elements in a room or the excess of pictures on the walls are not well considered. On the contrary, a table in the center of the space or a simple picture on a large wall of the same color are a good choice for minimalist decoration for small spaces. By applying these simple steps, most of which do not involve extra expense, you can take advantage of the spaces, move more freely through your home or office, and above all generate a more comfortable atmosphere for living. Mirrors

One of the oldest tricks to enlarge spaces is to use mirrors. The reason why it keeps its validity is because it always works. With a mirror you can give the feeling that a place is bigger than it seems, and you can give light to the most closed spaces. You can also play with the reflection to give dimension. If you bet on this complement, you must take into account the place where you place it and know what will be reflected in it. It is important to test to see what is reflected in the mirror to fulfill its function and magnify the place.
